When Did You Stop Feeling Beautiful?

There’s a moment that happens to so many women, and most of the time… nobody talks about it.

Somewhere between motherhood, responsibilities, work, relationships, school runs, sleepless nights and constantly taking care of everyone else — many women slowly stop seeing themselves.

Not completely.

Not all at once.

But little by little.

You stop stepping in front of the camera.

You stop looking at yourself kindly.

You stop feeling confident in your own skin.

And eventually, you begin to believe the story that you are “just tired”, “not photogenic”, or somehow less beautiful than you used to be.

As a mum myself, I know how easy it is to put yourself last.

There’s this unspoken pressure that once you become a mother, your focus should only be on everyone else. That caring about yourself, wanting beautiful photos, or wanting to feel confident again somehow becomes selfish.

But I don’t believe that.

I believe women deserve to feel seen too.

The Thing Women Tell Me Most

Before a session, almost every woman says some version of:

  • I’m awkward in photos.”
  • “I hate my double chin.”
  • “I’m not photogenic.”
  • “I don’t feel confident anymore.”

And honestly?

I understand it deeply, because I used to feel the same way about myself.

For years, I struggled with my own confidence and appearance. I never thought I was particularly beautiful or photogenic either.

But one thing I always noticed — both in life and when I worked in management before photography — was how differently women saw themselves compared to how others saw them.

Women would talk about themselves so harshly.

Or point out flaws in other women that I genuinely couldn’t even see.

Because when I look at people, I naturally see beauty first.

Not perfection.

Not flawless bodies.

Not “Instagram beauty”.

Real beauty.

The way someone smiles when they finally relax.

The softness in their expression.

Their strength.

Their femininity.

Their presence.

That’s what I try to capture through my women’s portrait photography and confidence photography sessions in Clitheroe, Ribble Valley, Lancashire and Manchester.

You Do Not Need To Change Yourself First

One of the biggest myths women believe is that they need to:

  • lose weight first
  • feel more confident first
  • look younger
  • fix something about themselves
  • before they deserve beautiful photos.

But confidence doesn’t magically appear one day.

Sometimes, confidence starts with allowing yourself to be seen again.

Not as “just mum”.

Not as the person behind the camera.

Not as someone constantly doing everything for everyone else.

But as you.

And that’s exactly why I created these portrait and boudoir photography sessions for women.

Not to make women become someone different — but to help them finally see the beauty that was already there.

“Oh My God… I Didn’t Think I Was That Beautiful”

That sentence right there?

That’s why I do this.

There’s something incredibly emotional about watching a woman see herself differently for the first time.

Not through criticism.

Not through comparison.

But through softness, confidence, light, emotion and honesty.

My sessions are designed to feel relaxed, guided and safe. You do not need modelling experience. You do not need to know how to pose. Most women arrive nervous — and leave feeling lighter, more confident and more connected to themselves again.

And honestly, that transformation means more to me than the photographs themselves.

Motherhood Shouldn’t Mean Losing Yourself

Being a mother is beautiful.

But you are allowed to be more than just “mum”.

You are still a woman.

You are still worthy of feeling beautiful.

You are still deserving of being in front of the camera.

Wanting photographs of yourself does not make you vain.

Wanting to feel confident does not make you selfish.

It makes you human.

And one day, your children will look for photographs of you too.

Not perfect photographs.

Just real ones.

Images where you existed too.

A Different Kind Of Photoshoot

My portrait sessions are not about perfection.

They are about connection.

Whether you want soft feminine portraits, confidence-building images, or something a little more bold and empowering — every session is created around you and your comfort level.

Together, we create photographs that feel:

elegant

emotional

natural

powerful

and most importantly… real.

Maybe This Is Your Sign

If you’ve spent years hiding from the camera, picking yourself apart, or believing you’re “not photogenic” — maybe this is your reminder that you deserve to be seen too.

Not someday.

Now.
