Already Married? Here’s Why You Can Still Have a Wedding Portrait Shoot

Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life — but it also flies by in a blur. Between the ceremony, guests, food, speeches, and dancing, there isn’t always time to slow down and capture the portraits you’d really love.

And that’s where a post-wedding portrait shoot comes in.

Yes — even after the wedding day has passed, you can put your dress back on, grab your partner (and maybe even your dog!), and have a relaxed session focused just on the two of you.

Why Couples Love Post-Wedding Portrait Sessions

1. No stress, no rush

On the wedding day, you’re often working to a schedule. With a separate shoot, there’s no pressure. We can take our time, choose the perfect light, and just enjoy it.

2. Include your pets

Not every venue allows dogs or other pets — but in a portrait session afterwards, you can absolutely bring them along. (Max & Angelika did just that with their Chow Chow, Waffle, and it made their photos even more personal.)

3. Explore new locations

Maybe you always dreamed of photos in a field, by the sea, or under a stone bridge — but your wedding day timings didn’t allow it. A portrait shoot afterwards gives us the freedom to choose a setting that really feels like “you.”

4. Wear your dress again

You only get to wear your wedding dress once… unless you plan a session afterwards! It’s such a joy to put it back on and relive the magic without any of the nerves.

5. Capture what matters most

With no distractions, it’s just you, your partner, and the love you share. The photos become all about your connection — no timelines, no formalities.

Max, Angelika & Waffle’s Story

Max and Angelika married in Poland in June, but their dog Waffle couldn’t join them. When they came home to Lancashire, we planned a portrait session just for the three of them.

It was calm, fun, and full of laughter. Angelika looked stunning in her dress, Max looked sharp in his suit, and Waffle was so proud leading them through the fields.

These photos weren’t just “extra” — they told the part of their story that had been missing.

The Best Part? It’s Never Too Late

Whether your wedding was last week or last year, it’s never too late to book a portrait session. Some couples use them to celebrate anniversaries, others to capture a more relaxed side of their relationship after the big day.

What matters is that your photos feel true to you.
